1332. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}3/R.{Sir Henry Royce} 5th October, 1937. Dunlop Rubber Co.,Ltd., Fort Dunlop, Erdington, BIRMINGHAM. For the attention of Mr. A.{Mr Adams} Healey. Dear Sirs, We have had complaints from our Sales' Dept. that the latest Dunlop tyre does not remain silent. The complaint is that very bad groans develop after 4,000 miles. We, of course, have always appreciated that the tyre tends to deteriorate with wear, but we have not the facilities for testing which are available in London on demonstration work. We have been running several sets of General Dual-10 tyres, and we must say that so far they have given astonishingly good results. We are continuing to run them to see for how long they maintain their remarkably good non-skid qualities. We should like to know what you can do to deal with this complaint of noise. Yours faithfully, For ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
