In regard to the question of the modified E.575 Dynamo, here again Mr Royce would not discuss matters at all, but argued that they had been sufficiently long on the job to have settled this issue long ago, but that they did not appear to be very much interested as to whether it was settled, or not, and therefore until they produced a satisfactory Dynamo and cut-out, and therefore cleared the trouble, he himself was not prepared to modify his attitude, but one could infer that, providing the new Dynamo were available quickly, in conjunction with the new cut-out, and that both of these were a satisfactory proposition from our point of view, then he might give the Lucas matter further consideration, but in the meantime we were to lose no time nor opportunity to obtain and fit at the earliest possible moment, some other design of machine which would not have the Lucas faults, and when we stated that we did not know of any Company in this country which could fill the bill by giving us output, reliability and quietness, Mr Royce then said we must get something from America. The point we wish to emphasize is, that Lucas must act, and that without any guarantees as to our future policy, and must act quickly if they are to retain our business.
