Recommendation to revert to fixed bushes for springs on 20 HP models due to wear on floating bushes.

BUSHES FOR SPRINGS ON 20 HP. X4261 We recommend that we should revert to the fixed bushes in the spring eyes as soon as possible. The disadvantage in the floating bush is that it is more difficult and expensive to repair. We have not been able to appreciate any advantage in the floating bush. We are finding on some of the 20 HP. cars which have run 15/20,000 miles, that the hole in the top spring leaf has worn .015" to .200" oval. It is a difficult job to true up these holes in the top leaf of the spring. We have always used fixed bushes in the spring eyes on the 40/50.
