To E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} From Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst. ORIGINAL Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.6/KT.14.12.31. Y6118 BATTERY IGNITION DISTRIBUTOR. In redesigning this distributor head we suggest that the threads in the terminal bosses be all of moulded bakelite. Also the terminal nuts could also be entirely of bakelite. (See sketch). The object of this would be to lengthen the outside H.T. leakage path to earth. Messrs Lucas have found this to be an advantage and have suggested that it would be an improvement in our design. With regard to moulded bakelite threads we can now satisfactorily mould these to accurate limits and we have also proved them to be mechanically strong. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst. | ||
