being in open circuit until the cutout closed - the cutout came into operation at 1086 engine R.P.M.

CONCLUSIONS.

The dynamo drive has stood up to the tests very well and appears to be quite a sound job. In order to investigate the slight slip which occurred at one period during the test, it is proposed on the next run to take readings of the dynamo R.P.M. at lower speeds than have been carried out as yet. This will show how much is in hand on the supercharger clutch since the driving power of the clutch blocks depends on the engine speed, whilst the dynamo load is kept constant by the regulator.

No conclusions can safely be drawn as to the efficiency of the flexible drive for the reasons stated previously. The next tests will be run using a new flexible drive, the drive cable of which will be wound so that the outer coil tightens under load.
