I note contents of your memo.

Re Barclay's car, this is now at Hythe Road. having the gearbox changed and they will send his present gearbox up to you to put right.

I note you will deal with Devereux's car, and this was duly handed over to your representative on Friday. You will have received his report that the gearbox gave way on B20AW whilst he was driving it in London, but fortunately it was close to Lillie Hall. I understand the trouble was with the selector rod and 'N' have now been able to put this right. We shall, therefore, be able to let Mr. Boddy have his trial run on Saturday and Sunday next.

Meantime I have noted the criticisms of the Park Ward body and we are sending the car there for them to attend to the points you mention.

Re H.R.H. The Duke of Kent, I do not quite know how we can deal with a car for him at the moment, until you have information as to whether or not you can turn out some more gearboxes.

The only line I can see in order to give you a car as a standard is to try and finish off a Park Ward with one of their wood and aluminium bodies, which you will remember we made in the first instance, and then let you have our present Trials car with the steel body, as I presume you are interested in this; and see if we can get the Panel Company to run off a set of parts, but I think this is rather doubtful. Perhaps you will let me know what you think of this idea. It might take a little time.

You will note that we are now left with only two chassis with gearboxes and we should have to take one of these for this purposes, and if it is agreed we should go ahead on these lines, then perhaps you will look into the question of getting the small bits which are missing from the chassis, a list of which I sent you recently.

Reverting to the Duke of Kent, I think we shall have to refrain from offering to give him one until we see how things develop.

C.
