CONNECTING RODS (CHASSIS).
RE.297-8.
----------------

We have 16 rods and caps as above and they are required for fitting to existing engines as part of our servicing of Experimental cars, now being used for extensive transport purposes.

They require finishing off and big and small end bushes fitted, as follows:-

SMALL END BUSHES.

All rods to be fitted with EB.5211 bushes upside down, so as to blank off the normal oil way up the rod. Lubrication of the gudgeon pin to be by drip feed through the existing hole in the tip of the rod.

LARGE END BUSHES.

10 rods to be fitted with EE.299 Vandervell bearings and to have .003 to .004 interference fit in the rods.

6 rods to be fitted with BPO516-7 Wellworthy bearings. These have been specially prepared as "precision shells", to compete with the Vandervell strip bearing. The rods will require the usual spigot, but the bearing faces should not be touched, as the point of the test is to run them without further attention, as received from the makers.

Note: Will you please have the attached drawings returned with the job.
