X775 Private. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Wn51/DD14.5.23. re : Expenses to South of France of yourself & Rg.{Mr Rowledge} The attached expenses were submitted to CJ for his approval, as in other cases of Continental visits, but he has returned them with a request for more information, and the comment that they are not sufficiently clear at the moment to enable him to understand them. His further comment is as follows:- "All the English Expenses have been lumped together but I cannot understand why they should all come under the date of the 9th April, viz:- two lunches in London occur twice under the same date, two dinners on the boat twice, and there are no vouchers for the lunches and only one voucher for the dinners". Will you kindly go through them again, and see if they can be reduced to a form in which they will meet with the requirements of CJ, and then let me have them back again ? Enclosures. [signature] | ||
