X435 Exptl. Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}21/KW. 26th January, 1934. F.L. Manning Esq., Messrs. Barker & Co. (Coachbuilders) Ltd., 66, South Audley Street, LONDON, W.1. Dear Manning, Thank you very much for your letter of the 25th. I should very much like to try the Packard next Thursday. There is however one snag that may crop up. I cannot find a drawing of the Packard engine and therefore do not know whether the crankshaft damper is an exterior one or hidden inside the crankcase. I wonder whether you have any means of finding this out. If it is an exterior one, all is well and I can quite easily do the job during the day. If however the damper is not getatable I think I shall have to do the experiment on another motor car. If you could find this out and send me a line, I will be at South Audley Street as early as you like on Thursday morning. I am sorry to give you so much trouble. Kind regards, Yours sincerely, | ||
