PRODUCTION TEST OF LUCAS DYNAMO
(marked 85Z).

(1) Control brushes were found to be rather tight in their respective holders but were subsequently made O.K. Spring pressure O.K. except on one of the control brushes which requires the spring to be retarded to the 2nd. and 3rd. notches to acquire the necessary pressure.
(2) Open circuit voltage 12.9 at 615 r.p.m. Cold.
(3) Amperes after 20 mins. run 11.8.
Volts " " " 14.4.
Control brush required setting to arrive at the specification figures.
(4) Open circuit volts at 715 r.p.m. = 15.0. Hot.
(5) Electrical noise reasonable.
Mechanical " almost nil.
(6) Sparking occurs at one of the control brushes.
N.B. This brush has the bad spring adjustment (See 1.)
Brush appears to be bedding O.K. Other brushes O.K.
