VALVE CLATTER.

It has been established by Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} that the thermometer connection is guilty of transmitting a considerable amount of valve noise to the front seats of cars. This is true of all models, but particularly so on the SpectreCodename for Phantom III.

We have been making enquiries and find that the thermo couple type of thermometer is not at present widely used in England and is rather expensive. The alternative seems to be to mount the existing bulb in a rubber pocket insulated from the cylinder head. We are trying this out in a crude way, but think the scheme should be properly designed.
