W/S - Hn.{F. C. Honeyman - Retail orders} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/FD.{Frank Dodd - Bodies}24/KW.25.2.36. Re Phantom III Dummy Chassis. We have no record of the parts required by Messrs. Hooper for the Ph.III dummy chassis. This particular chassis came to us from Smith & Sons, after having had jacks fitted. We have been in touch with them and they state that the parts in question were not on the chassis when they had it. We understand that Lockheeds of Leamington Spa have a Ph.III dummy chassis. We have questioned them and their chassis has on - (a) Two front wing stays. (b) Front apron. (c) Head lamp brackets (no lamps). (d) No bumper bar. We cannot state for sure from where the chassis in question was supplied to Smiths, they thought it came from Barkers, but Barkers say not. The whole thing is a puzzle to us, and we should be pleased if you could sort out the Coachbuilders who had the dummy chassis and the present positions of the same.
