Widney Works,
Bagot Street,
Birmingham, 4.

For the attention of Mr.Booth.

Dear Sirs,

Confirming our telephone conversation with your Mr. Robertson to-day, we would like you to fit a Widney hinge to the pair of bonnet plates which we are to-day forwarding to you, the necessary drawings being attached herewith. The hinge should be cut away as indicated on drawings before it is fitted and it should be spot welded to the top plates.

The bonnet top plates can then be separated when returned to us, by withdrawing hinge rod and bead and in order to enable the fittings on the hinge rod and support bracket etc. to be fitted.

We would draw your attention to the fact that .125 approx. is allowed each end of the bonnet plate for fitting, when you are fixing the hinge to the plates. We wish you to deliver the plates in a finished state, i.e. folded to drawing at both top and side edges. We would also like the hinge and top plates to be given your standard rust proofing treatment.

We would mention that we shall shortly want a pair of Bentley top plates fitted with a hinge in a similar manner, but that in the case of these plates the fold on the side edge is identical with that of the top edge except that the tongue horizontal on side edge, is longer than that (vertical) on the top edge.
