Mr. Hall from EFC. X2894 EFC1/AT25.7.18. X.1818 X.2814 X.317 3 X.2894 - BATTERY IGNITION - TUNGSTEN CONTACT POINTS We have handed to you a set of 2 contact levers and 2 contact points, taken from the Remy R2-cylinder ignition set. We desire to know, as nearly as possible, the composition of the actual points, which we think extend for a depth of about .035" from the surface. We shall also hand you a piece of Tungsten wire which we have received, and we would like to know the composition of this wire and how nearly this agrees with the composition of the points themselves. The object of this is that we require to try on our own battery ignition, contact points of material as nearly similar as possible to that used by the American Ignition people, of which we have handed you samples. We hope you will be able to determine the composition of the contact breaker points, using as few of these 4 as possible, as, if there is much difference between these and the wire, we would like to have some of these contacts fitted to our own battery ignition. We have available a further pair of Tungsten contacts for this purpose so that if it is necessary for your purpose to use all four we shall still have a pair to fit, but if you can manage with only two of these so much the better. We have on the other hand plenty more wire similar to sample. EFC. | ||
