X.4195 Re Hand Magneto on Armoured Cars. -------------------------------------- We send herewith two blue prints of "N" Sch: 626 shewing approximately the position in which we should like to fix the hand magneto. It will be seen that it is fastened to the armouring upside down. The upside down position somewhat interferes with the lubrication, but we should think that the lubrication required would be very small, and could be done by taking the magneto down. The object of this drawing is to get Col. Hutchinson's consent to the general position of the magneto, whether it is secured to the armouring or to a wooden instrument board, which is possibly arranged across the car somewhat in this position. The object of putting the magneto in this particular place is that it may be used by the No.1 driver of the car in the place of the ordinary ignition switch, to obtain a start, and in the second case it can be used by the No.2 driver if that were convenient. more DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} R.R. 535A. 100 T's S H 159. 11-9-20) G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} 189 | ||
