To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} re Chassis for America. Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}2/E7.4.30

I enclose copy of memo. which I have received from Oy. which will be self-explanatory.

In regard to performance I hope that, as soon as the first car is running, you will make some comparative acceleration tests between the standard English Phantom II, the American Phantom I and perhaps also the English Phantom I.

With regard to gear box, I presume that the one to which Oy. refers in the last paragraph of page 1 is the one which we have tried and which we were talking about when I was at Derby the other day?

I should be glad to know whether Oy. has personally tested it.

I should also be glad if you would send me particulars of what our general criticism of it is so that, when I see R.{Sir Henry Royce}, I can talk to him about it.

You did mention its disadvantages the other day when I was at Derby but I am afraid that I have forgotten them.
