-2- Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}5/KW.13.2.34. Our clutch troubles at the moment are two; namely, complaints of slipping which we cure by causing the clutch to smoke. This sometimes causes clutch judder. Secondly on the Bentleys the wear of the linings is more rapid than we should like. In view of that we hesitate to fit heat treated linings knowing the rate of wear to be nearly doubled. We hope that with this information in parallel with the tests you are doing, we shall arrive at a lining to meet both requirements. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
