X1588 Re. from ROY.{Sir Henry Royce} c. to RV. c. to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} ROY{Sir Henry Royce}5/AG2.2.25 Messrs. Frank How & Company, Trogen Wharf, Stratford London. E.15 write:- "You will doubtless have seen the announcement in "this week's copy of "Flight" that we have again secured "the Air Ministry contract for Aero Engine Oil. "This Oil has only been adopted after very exhaustive "testing, and trials, and represents the last word in "lubricating efficiency. "At the same time the cost is 10% lower than that of "the vegetable oils, which up to a short time ago, were "considered the only possible lubricant for high power "internal combustion engines. "We beg to suggest that it would be worth your while "to allow us to quote you for your own requirements, in "Machine, Engine or Motor Oil. We venture to think that "our prices will surprise you, and in these days when it is "absolutely essential to cut your costs to a minimum, a saving "in lubrication costs, coupled with absolute efficiency, is an "important factor. "If you will let us know what types of oil you are at "present using, we will send you containers for filling with "oils for matching purposes." I know nothing of this firm, or if their claims are true. Perhaps you would care to make a trial. Our "CASTROL" Oil purchases per annum are considerable, and the Oil itself has recently gone up 5d per gallon, due to shortage of Castor Oil seed. ROY.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
