DERBY.

Dear Mr.Robotham,

When the new engine was fitted to my car I asked for a thermostat to be fitted in addition to the shutter thermostat.

The time of warming up has been considerably reduced and I am writing to ask if you have any objection to this modification being carried out on another car which belongs to a Doctor friend of mine who, due no doubt to constant stopping and starting, has been getting bad cylinder wear.

I understand that a rebore was necessary at about 22,000 miles.

London Service preferred not to undertake the work without consulting you as it rendered the car non-standard.

With kindest regards,

Yours sincerely,

W.Martin-Hurst.
