Exptl. Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}1/KW. 29th March, 1935. Captain Wilks, The Rover Motor Company Ltd., Coventry. Dear Capt. Wilks, I am sending you under separate cover a set of tappets for your chromium plating treatment. I am also letting you have particulars of the camshaft toes in the course of the next post or so. Unless I hear to the contrary, I am arranging for our carburetter expert to arrive at your Works immediately after lunch on Monday next. He has done a great deal of distribution work on 6-cylinder engines and you may be able to extract some information from him as well as show him the exhaust gas analyser. With him will be one of our men who is interested in coachwork, and I have asked him to get samples of the materials which you recommended to me if you would be good enough to let him have small portions thereof. He would also be very interested to see how you are fixing your sound insulation materials. Thank you very much for the interesting day you gave me on Wednesday. I shall hope to see either you or your brother, or both, over here before very long. If you will let me know which day next week is convenient for your Coachbuilding expert to see the Cadillac body, I will make arrangements. It is at the Rolls-Royce Depot at Lillie Hall, Seagrave Road, Fulham, S.W.6, and the man in charge is Mr. Lee-Evans, with whom I will communicate upon hearing from you. Yours sincerely, | ||
