ROY {Sir Henry Royce} /GEA2/EB2-11-28.

With regard to the sample Jack submitted by Messrs.Tangyes Limited, Birmingham, for our 40-HP. Chassis.

We have requested them to prepare another sample on the lines of the one submitted by them, except that the body is to be in Aluminium as suggested by you.

We have also requested said firm to submit a Jack suitable for our 40/50-HP. Chassis and they have now sent us a print No.T.S.O.8975 which we send you herewith.

Messrs.Tangyes point out, that the dimensions shown on this drawing agree generally with our figures except the dimension 7¾", which we state is given as the maximum run-out, they suggest that this figure should be 17¾". Please see your memo ref: Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /AJLL/LG4.9.28 in which the figure is given as 7¾". They also point out that the minimum height of the Jack according to the figures on their drawing is 6½" and not 6¼" as stated in your memo referred to.

Will you kindly confirm that the Jack, on the lines suggested, will meet our requirements, so that we can instruct them to prepare a sample.

ROY. {Sir Henry Royce}
