Dear Sirs:
For the attention of Mr. H.F. West.
Referring to your letter of the 3rd inst. We are at the moment endeavouring to find a source of supply for thinner and therefore more flexible capillary tubing for Thermometers. The flexible type used on the Negretti & Zambra instruments is made by them to meet their special requirements i.e. a tubing with a very small bore. We happen to know that their tubing is very costly to produce but, of course, it does not matter so much on an instrument which sells for £4. or £5. They cannot produce tubing in excess of their own requirements.
We are not letting the matter rest and we can assure you that it is having our very careful attention.
Yours faithfully
FOR S. SMITH & SONS (MOTOR ACCESSORIES) LIMITED.
