1029 Jnr.{Charles L. Jenner} from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 300 200 Brakes General Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}4/ML.3.10.40. Herewith a leaflet on hydraulic tappets, which you will see are now being manufactured by the Borgenbeck people at Leamington. We have, of course, an engine in process of manufacture which was being fitted with these tappets and I do not think we need do any- thing further at the moment. If the high power engine continues to be as satisfactory with regard to it's valve gear as 30.G.Vii. hydraulic tappets certainly cannot be justified from a maintenance point of view. Conceivably, they may be necessary to get the very best power output from a small engine. We are making some enquiries regarding the price. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Will you please return leaflet for filing when finished with. | ||
