To By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std. c. Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} 1280 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.8/MH.{M. Huckerby}28.1.38. Messrs. Marstons have raised the question with the writer of the overlap of our radiator matrix side plates over the matrix itself. At present these plates are about .100 wider than the matrix itself. This is inconvenient for the makers since they level up the blocks and side plates ready for dipping, by laying them on a flat surface, and this ensures that the faces of the matrix are flat. They suggest that the side plates should be exactly the same width as the matrix. We have agreed to this and would like you to alter the detail drawings of the plates accordingly and send them new prints. This applies on Wraith, B.II, B.III and Ph.III chassis.
