re Aluminium cradle type BD.{Mr Berend} Naval Gun.
Detail QB.1901.

We have now settled the position for the sight
brackets for the lst. 25 guns type BD.{Mr Berend} and show on the
sketch herewith the position on the cradle for the bolt
faces.

We have telephoned this information to HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr}
this morning, so that he might immediately complete
modifications to the patterns.

In order to deal with any future slight
variation to the distance between the sights we suggest
that the general thickness of the cradle at the foresight
boss should be made to insure a range of + or - .375.

Although we have given the information verbally
to HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} it will be necessary for you to modify detail
QB.1901 as soon as possible and issue to him the alteration
prints.

We shall be sending you the sight bracket details
in a day or so.

Details of the actual sights will have to follow
as soon as we have final instructions from the Admiralty
authorities.
