| RECEIVED X 228. from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c.c. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} E.6/HP.8.3.32. Bensport Gearbox. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/GRYL/MJ.5.3.32 arises out of my suggestion to Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} and Hdy{William Hardy} that on the Bensport we ought to arrange the reverse gear if possible so that it does not balk the change down to 1st gear. This can be done it appears if we accept twice the present movement of the reverse gear, and change speed lever. The latter apparently creates no difficulty as with central change the change gear tower and lever is well away from everything. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} | ||
