-2- (2) B.50 Radiator - position of this unit as regards completion. (3) B.III Radiators - supply of two experimental units. (4) Ph.III Oil coolers - quantity promised, floating stock required etc. (5) Ph.III MK.V. matrix reconditioning - supply of 10 matrices/week. The conclusions arising from the discussion were as follows:- (1) After a certain amount of argument about the discrepancy between individual shutter gaps, Messrs. Marstons admitted the faults mentioned on the inspection report and are sending in a second unit by approx. May 14 with the defects corrected. As the shutter set when viewed from the front gives the appearance of having too large a gap between the centre shutters, in spite of being correct to drawing we have arranged for them to reduce this gap by .062 approx. by reducing the amount of turn-over on the edges of the centre vanes - if this is approved on the next proof set this alteration should be made on the drawing. (2) The B.50 radiator was well in progress, matrix, top and bottom tanks, yoke shell and grille all being completed and in the process of assembly. Since that date, however, it has been decided to scrap the first B.50 design of shell and grille, and therefore it will be necessary for Messrs. Marstons to prepare a new shell and grille as well as make slight alterations to the inner radiator. (3) Messrs. Marstons are willing to make two experimental B.III radiators, and the approximate costs they give for these (complete with shell and grille etc., but excepting certain minor machined parts which we will supply) are - (1) 1 radiator £45. (2) 2 radiators £60 - 65. (4) Messrs. Marstons will supply 50 oil coolers per week as replacements providing they are supplied with the old type coolers sufficiently quickly. In order to facilitate this they are now making a floating stock of new coolers which will be made at their expense providing at the end of the change-overs they are left with 50 coolers for conversion. | ||
