To enable us to carry out a certain amount of inspection work on our cars at Clan Foundry, it is necessary that we have some accurate instruments with which to work. We cannot hope to obtain all the instruments for 100% inspection such as the Experimental Dept. at Derby, as this would entail an expenditure of thousands of pounds, neither can we expect one Fitter or Inspector to Purchase even the essentials we require out of his own pocket. We therefore suggest that the department should purchase for its own use, and for which the undersigned will be responsible, the following tools as listed in Brown and Sharpe's catalogue No.33 A.{Mr Adams} dated February 17th, 1940.
