Contd. -3- Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1/LG9.9.20 -------------- the Works, we showed to him parts of the new 3-speed gearbox. He was positively horrified to think that we were contemplating such a change and said that he thought it would very seriously jeopardize the Sales in America if the cars had only three speeds. X.200 Another point we should like to emphasize is the fact that the weight of complete cars is going up. We have instructions for a number of chassis which, complete with normal load, will weigh just over 3 tons. The average weight of cars now is appreciably heavier than pre-War cars.
