Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FJH.{Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev. Engineer}4/MH.{M. Huckerby}27.9.38. BENTLEY AXLE PINION BEARINGS. We have recently standardised a modified pinion bearing, GB.4080, which will come on to production at 78 in 'M' series and should be used for all replacements. The difference between this bearing and the previous one is that the cages have the holes elongated by 0.025 and the preload is 0.002 - 0.003 instead of 0.000 - 0.001. When fitting the new bearing the cover GB.2666 should be faced so that the bearing is nipped by 0.003 instead of the present 0.001. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FJH.{Fred J.
