To- Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} from Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} re Epicyclic Easy Copy to Bs.{A J. Barnes - Assistant Manager} B. Change Gearbox. Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} BK.{A. Birkett - Commercial Manager} Ph. Referring to Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Lid.{A. J. Lidsey}4/KT.1.3.31 a perusal of this memo. shows a very lamentable state of affairs in regard to our having at an early date a gearbox with a silent and easy change third. It is now well over a year since I first took the matter up with R.{Sir Henry Royce} and we appear to be nearly as far off having something suitable as we were then. I should like to write to R.{Sir Henry Royce} on the subject but, before doing so, feel it is very desirable to have your views and recommendations as to what line of action you consider we should recommend to be pursued. I should be glad if you would have a meeting of the technical officials concerned with a view to considering this as soon as possible. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} | ||
