Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/LS.3/TE.12.37 contd :-2- Complaints A discussion arose concerning the case of an owner who had recurrent starter motor trouble. It was pointed out that "N" were making in-correct adjustments through lack of liaison with the Works. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} said that he would have Br.{T. E. Bellringer - Repair Manager} and GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} at Derby to talk over this question. P.III Battery Trouble. The apparent lack of capacity of the P.III battery, reported by certain customers, is due to a faulty armature fuse preventing charging. A new type of fuse is available to overcome this. Ammeters. The fitting of an improved type ammeter to customers cars is to be regarded as a safety first job and to be treated on the same lines as the front brake modification on P.III. In cases where the brakes have not yet been attended to, the two jobs can be carried out concurrently. At the same time an inspection of the starter motor should be made, to see whether the contacts have been tampered with, and the starter button pigtail, fuse and switch box should also be inspected and modified if necessary. 6-B-IV. This car is now running about with the over-drive gear box and Hm.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} reported that it is very satisfactory. It is to go to London for a few days for Sales' opinion. | ||
