x261 To Hy.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}3/KW.20.9.35. 3½ Litre Bentley - Capt. Woolf Barnato. Hy.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer}1/R.17.9.35. We consider that 300 miles to the gallon is an excessive oil consumption. There is no doubt that the fitting of lead bronze bearings does increase the oil consumption, but this car must have been using relatively too much oil before the changeover. It should come in for an examination of pistons and cylinder bores when available. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
