Dear Sirs,

We thank you for your letter of the 20th. instant, and shall be very pleased to see your Mr. Brock and Mr. E. {Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Fowler Clark on Thursday the 28th. instant as suggested in your letter.

We have made considerable progress with the machine with large armature, and hope to have the first machine running within a few days.

We are incorporating in this machine a device for damping out the movement of the moveable pole shoes under the magnetic pull, as well as other detail improvements which we think will meet with your approval.

We trust this letter will reach you before Mr. E. {Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Fowler Clark leaves on Friday,

contd......
