To Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/HC. Copy to [redacted] Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/RC.{R. Childs}6/ET.27.3.41. Re DYNAMO. ---------- The dynamo on 12.B.V failed 26.3.41, in that it stopped generating. The fault was found to be due to a worn out brush. This dynamo has completed, as far as we know, 36,751 miles without attention: 34,633 miles in 12.B.V and 2121 miles on 2.B.50. This is interesting since, in France, the brush life was only about 12,000 miles. We stated then that the brush life would be much longer under normal conditions.
