Dear Dick,

Thank you for your letter of December 20th.

I am sorry to hear about the knock which has developed in your engine. Speaking unofficially, I think it highly improbable that any charge will be made for rectifying this. However, the Repair Dept. are responsible for dealing with such matters, so perhaps you will write to them and I will take an interest in the car when it arrives.
