To BJ. To PN.{Mr Northey} To CWB. To EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} To Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} To Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} FROM HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 48770 SECRET. HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}5/LG16.3.25. TESTS ON EAC 'V' SERIES. 48770 78940 With reference to the arrangement that we are to bring two EAC. cars to London and that BJ. PN.{Mr Northey} CWB. EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} and Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} should try these cars together in order to arrive at a suitable standard for Production Cars. We recommend that we wait until 93-NK car is ready before this test takes place. 93-NK car is the next car to start 10,000 miles. We expect to have this running, with all the parts agreed to in CJ1/M13.3.25, next week. The other EAC. cars we have are being use continually on very urgent experimental work which we should have to delay if we bring these cars to London this week. 93-NK. car, when it is ready, will then represent the final agreed type of car. In the meantime, the Production Test should have an opportunity of gaining a certain amount of experience with the EAC. 'V' series cars which they have on test and should be in a better position to raise any points which they consider doubtful. Will you please let us know if you agree to this. It is impossible for us to say the exact day 93-NK car will be ready, but it will be towards the end of next week. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
