X3499. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} From Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn.{Mr Robinson} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn.{Mr Robinson}9/MA.13.12.32. We send you herewith a test carried out on the bi-metal plates which you had hoped to use to control the extra oil to the cylinders on Peregrine. It will be remembered that the required travel on the valve was just over 1/10" which had to be obtained between 15 and 35°C. It will be observed that for this range bi-metal plates will only give about .020 travel which is considerably less than thermostat. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn.{Mr Robinson} | ||
