/46 X4545 PN {Mr Northey} 1/DN/20.1.23. TO EJ. [Strikethrough] c. to Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} " " EP. {G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} [Strikethrough] RE SALAMANCA TRIALS CHASSIS - 20 H.P. Referring to the tests made yesterday of the Salamanca chassis relatively to that of our Open Barker Trials 20 H.P. car in the presence of Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} and EP. {G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} , it was found that the performance of the chassis was altogether poor in comparison. Later I found that the chassis [Strikethrough]had been[/Strikethrough] ballasted up with 6 cwt. more than I anticipated, and the comparison therefore was not reliable. Today I repeated the tests with the weights carried by both the chassis being similar, and the performance of the Salamanca chassis was, if anything, Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} relatively worse than on the previous occasion.
