Dear Sirs,

30 h.p. DC-42 CARBURETTER

We have given very careful consideration to your letter of the 1st inst., and we are sorry to learn that the strangler portion of the carburetter is giving you so much trouble.

As regards the investigations which you are carrying out, in general we have no objection to the proposals which you have put forward, except that if you decide it is absolutely necessary that the length of the bearings must be reduced by the amounts which you have indicated, then we would draw your attention to the fact that there is one other question which should be considered, namely, that of the wear on the part of the strangler spindle and its bearings. It might be that if the bearing area is reduced too much, then undue wear might take place; and we trust, therefore, if you decide that the suggestion
