X7655 RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}/FW. from EFC. EFC2/AD8.6.29. X.7655. SEQUENCE STARTER MOTOR SYSTEM. To enable us to proceed with the starter motor system rig tests, we are awaiting the following :- Complete starter motor exactly similar to the few recently produced and fitted to S.S. cars with 2 exceptions : (1) Main armature Y spring D.72216 of intermediate rate. (2) Completely sharp edged pinion in place of pinion with rounded and backed-off teeth. One automatic main and auxiliary switch unit, instructed in accordance with our most recent specification of adjustment, which includes limits (copy of this has been handed to Mr. Wolstenholme). Duplex push button switch to LOP. D.72231 with bakelite moulded base, but otherwise similar to switches recently fitted to S.S. cars. It has also been arranged with you that we have a number of gear rings in different materials for test in turn. We are anxious to be able to proceed with these tests which will consist in automatic switching on and off for a large number of times in succession. We should like to be able to proceed with these tests at the earliest opportunity. EFC. | ||
