(5) Distance pieces to our F.61286, print of which is attached to this letter, to be supplied by you. The bore of this piece will actually be larger than shown on this print owing to omission of serrations.

(6) The amount of pre-load necessary to be finally decided at a later date but it is proposed that an experimental batch should be supplied with 0.0005" to 0.001" preload.

(7) It is essential that initial difficulties should be overcome and production supplies commence by the end of June. It would therefore be desirable to complete a batch of say 20 assemblies by the end of May, or sooner, if possible.

(8) It was arranged that you should write to us giving a quotation for the assemblies and agreeing to undertake the supply of these or similar parts initially at the rate of approximately 20 per week, and later at a rate which may reach 50 per week.

Upon receipt of your quotation, assuming that this is satisfactory, we will send you an official order for 200 assemblies. The first test batch of 20 can be part of this order.

We are having new drawings made, to agree with the above mentioned arrangement of manufacture and also to show the non-serrated bore and chamfer to facilitate grinding of tracks, and we will send you prints of these as soon as they are available.

The writer wishes to thank you for your kind hospitality on the occasion of his visit.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
