X.1304 - RE SAMPLES OF P & R BATTERY BOXES ETC.

With regard to the samples you have sent here of Battery boxes and terminals, I should have thought that the large 3-cell box was very heavy and has insufficient room underneath the plates.

I have the impression that other makes of batteries we have seen left more space at this point for the collection of deposit from the plates.

The separate cells generally are to be preferred to the 3 cell box as this latter is heavier and is liable to leak from one cell to the other.

I should think that the lead coating as carried out is insufficient to protect the terminal fittings. It has in some cases already rubbed off at the corners.
