Dear Mr. Robotham,

Reverting to your letter of the 28th ultimo, I rang you up today on my return from the Monaco Grand Prix to learn that you are in France. I was then transferred to Mr.Hives, but I gathered that he, too, is away, and accordingly I decided not to come to Derby as arranged.

It is possible that I could manage to get up to Derby on Tuesday or Thursday of next week if either of those days suit you.
Would you kindly let me know then I would speak to you on the 'phone in confirmation?

Yours sincerely,

Geoffrey Smith

DIRECTOR.
