EAC.14 - CAST ALUM: PISTON WITH 'H' WEBS.

Herewith we send drg. LeC.2495 shewing the above. This piston has been created as an alternative to LeC.2434 - cross web die-cast piston - should the latter prove too weak across the section of the horizontal split where we had pistons break on the 10,000 mile tests in the early part of 1925.

LeC.2495 is however not very suitable for die-casting, as so far as we can see it is not possible to make a metal core for the portion above the piston pin bosses which can be drawn away in sections.

Experimental pistons of this pattern should however be tried in reserve against LeC.2494.
