GOSHAWK 11. SIDE STEERING TUBE. V4265 Please receive N.sch. 1315 shewing the modification to the buffer springs in the side steering tube which Mr. Royce would like carried out after inspecting the tube on 6-Goshawk 11. The rating of the spring is somewhat increased but the initial load is put up from 50 lbs. to 100 lbs, and the maximum load to 300 lbs., but the motion remains the full .5 as now. We appreciate that the springs given here are rather guess work, and it may be necessary to make still further experiments varying the load and the rating. We can send you particulars of this when we get the result of N.sch. 1315. Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} (RECEIVED [STAMP: Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} AUG 22 1922] | ||
