83805. To Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} From Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}2/MJ.27.9.32. Re. 'Bentley' Four Litre Engine. Replying to Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}24/E.26.9.32. We have done no work at all on the four-litre Bentley engine and there are very little prospects of us being able to run it for some time. The engine we obtained from Bentley's was a test engine, not a new engine. We have borrowed the carburetters off it and fitted them to 19-G4. If this engine is saleable then we are quite prepared to get rid of it. If, however, it is only scrap value we think it is worth while our keeping it because it does represent a type of engine construction which may have some interesting points.
