B. 56. BN.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} BENTLEY.

Upon re-examining the Pistons this morning, we discovered that all the pistons had small cracks across the lands on the pressure & non pressure sides. One Piston it has started to go down the skirt. These cracks did not show up when Pistons were first taken out.

We have since chalk tested them. The cracks seem to start either side of the drain hole under the scraper ring. We enclose a sketch showing position.

We have taken the top half of the Crankcase and Crank to Paris. They have not got a boring Car that size, so they are proceeding to hand scrape the bearings in. I have asked them to work through the week-end so as not to delay the job.
