The battery ignition on 10-G-111 did not completely fail. Starting up was difficult on one occasion and so the magneto was used which seemed to cure the trouble, but this was shortly afterwards traced to water on the plugs after standing due to the cylinder head requiring tightening down. The battery points were trued up at Le CanadelHenry Royce's French residence, though they were not really in very bad condition and later the battery ignition was again used when it appeared to function quite satisfactorily.
