Rear Girling Brakes.

As stated in the Daily Reports, the hand brake lever was much too heavy to pull on and even more difficult to release. It had been necessary to set the rod with considerable lost movement to reach the first notch at all easily.

We have now reduced the effective length of the lever on the hand brake shaft by 1.5" and made a big improvement. You may consider the movement too great as the hand brake can just be pulled to the end of the quadrant when the rear brakes are loosened off 7 notches.

A reduction of 1" in length would be a good compromise, but it is very nice to use as it is.

Have you any objection to our running like this ?
